Momentum - Setting Habits for Success
If you are embarking on a journey to change your life in some way then you will undoubtedly come up against obstacles. One of the major obstacles in achieving personal goals is lack of momentum. If you have a goal in mind, keeping your momentum up until you reach that goal is crucial for your success. That being said, it is vital that you learn how to develop habits that will ultimately lead you to your goal. Daily action builds habits. That statement has been stated so many times that it has become one of the major aspects of personal goal setting. Determining daily habits that will lead you to your goal is easy, it’s keeping the momentum to develop the habits where some people get lost.
Simply deciding upon a goal is not enough motivation to lead you to success. You must work every day to reach that goal, no matter how small your goal is. By keeping your momentum up, you prepare yourself to be successful not only in reaching this goal, but in all other goals that you set for yourself throughout your life.
If daily action leads to habits and habits can help you to achieve your goal, then you should develop new habits. We are not talking about bad habits, such as nail biting or smoking. What you need are actions that you repeat enough to actually do them without thinking. For instance, if you were to set your clock back 30 minutes, in order to get an earlier start on your workday. After a few days of getting up 30 minutes earlier you would develop the habit of waking up, just as you do at your wake up time now. It only takes performing the action a few times in order to make it a habit.
Keep in mind that whatever good habits you develop, it is vitally important that you keep doing them every day. If you were to skip one day, for whatever excuse, then it would be much easier to skip the next day, and the day after that…you see where this is heading.
Keeping your momentum up is very important no matter what goal you are striving for. If you do not keep your momentum and enthusiasm up then you are destined to let your goal slip away. If you feel yourself losing momentum then remember why you set that specific goal in the first place. Remind yourself of the magnitude of achieving that goal. Above all, do not give up. You must push through whatever is in your way and keep reaching for the goals that you have set.
Losing your momentum for a brief period may actually help you to overcome other obstacles down the road. Just remember why you are trying to reach this goal. Developing daily habits of striving for your goal will help you to stay motivated and inspired. By doing specific acts each day that will help you to reach your goal, you will eventually form a habit of doing these things. Once you have reached the first goal, others will follow much easier simply because your habits will still be with you and you will understand that in the process of setting habits to reach your goal, you have actually set habits that will ensure your success in everything that you attempt.

You hit the nail on the head
You are sooo right about that. It can't be repeated enough. Daily action brings results.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
