Productive Creativity
Time management is a very important aspect in getting things done on a daily basis. Maybe even more important is the aspect of productive creativity. Particularly if your interests revolve around creative choices such as writing or the arts, being productive is highly important. Keeping your productive creativity juices flowing may seem like an un-accomplishable task, but it can be done. You simply need a few strategic methods for maintaining your creativity level so that you can accomplish your productivity goals.
First, you should always look for things that will inspire you. If you are a painter, perhaps the works of Michelangelo are your inspiration. If you are a writer, then maybe it’s Hemmingway. Whatever you do, search out inspiration from some of the greats in your field.
You may also want to dispense with the negativity. Negative thoughts and, more importantly, negative people will surely prove to be your downfall. Being creative takes much more energy than you may realize. Be careful of ways that others can drain your energy. If you are confronted by negative people, simply walk away. Keep negative thoughts from brewing inside your own head and look for the positives in life. You should also practice patience. Be patient with yourself specifically. Creativity is not something that you can force. You have to have patience and let your thoughts come to you. If you try to force yourself to do a creative task before you are ready, it will definitely not show your best work. Patience is a virtue. This statement has never rung as true as it does when speaking of creativity. Allow yourself however much time you need to let your creativity come through.
While we are on the subject of being patient with yourself, you should also consider believing in yourself. If you believe that you cannot do something then you are right. Alternatively, if you believe that you can, then you are also right. Have confidence in what you are doing, in what you can do; you will prove to yourself that you have the talent and ability to do whatever that task is.
Above all is to take good care of you. Get plenty of sleep and eat healthy. In order for your mind to produce creative thoughts, your body must be at its best. If you are not getting enough sleep each night, then consider retiring to bed a few minutes earlier or take an afternoon nap. The key is to keep your mind focused and without the proper rest and nutrition, your ability to focus will become much more difficult. In order to be productive in your creative tasks you must take care of your body as a whole.
There are other things that may help you to be more productive in your creativity. The main thing to remember is to use the methods that work best for you. Everyone writer has had writer’s block at some point and every painter has stared at a blank canvas for hours waiting for images to appear. You must be patient, relax, and remember your motivation for doing what you love to do. Your creative productivity will return. You just need to learn how to make the journey easier.

"You may also want to dispense with the negativity"
This is great advice. I never realized just how draining it is to deal with negativity - my own or others. This is probably true for anyone and for all aspects of life - not just people in creative fields.
