Use Goal Setting for Personal Planning
Submitted by Aspire on Sun, 08/24/2008 - 13:23.
The goal setting process is part of personal planning. By setting goals on a routine basis you decide what you want to achieve, and then move progressively towards achieving your goals. Goals can be long term and also short term. They focus your attention and knowledge, which ssists you in organizing your resources that you will apply to your goals. Preparing incisive and distinct goals, you will be able to assess and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can chart your forward progress in what might have seemed a long pointless effort.
By setting goals you can:
- Improve your overall productivity and performance
- Achieve more in your life
- Increase your motivation to achieve when you meet goals
- Increase your pride and satisfaction in your achievements
- Improve your self-confidence
- Plan to eliminate attitudes that hold you back and cause unhappiness
People who use goal-setting effectively:
- Experience less stress and anxiety
- Concentrate and focus better
- Have more self-confidence
- Perform better overall in life
- Are happier and more satisfied with life
